Change in Surgery details
Liz has decided that as the Rangers are no longer in the Park she will not now be having her Saturday Surgery. I know that this is inconvenient to some people who regularly came to see me but there has been no guarantee from the city council that there will be anyone to let me in to the Park Centre for my Surgery.
Apologies Liz

School's Music Theatre
The Schools Music Theatre continues to bring enjoyment to everyone. I feel privileged to have seen a couple of weeks ago at the Rep, 'The Boyfriend', by Back to Back a follow up group from the Schools Music Theatre. This week I saw 'The Pajama Game' at the Whitehall. Both of these productions once again highlighted the fantastic talent of our young people. Our young people are to be applauded for their energy and stamina if nothing else they certainly put their hearts and souls into these musical productions. Every year without fail Lina Waghorn, Kenny Christie and Paul Clancy inspire and teach our young people how to display their talents, how to practices self discipline and encourage them to achieve at school. Well done Everyone.

Baldovan Terrace
As part of the Stobswell regeneration work is starting on Baldovan Terrace. More parking spaces are to be created, with trees being planted and euro bins set in place. This street will also look great after its face lift.

Stobswell Regeneration - Park Avenue
Part of the Stobswell regeneration has been the improvements to Park Avenue. This has gone down well with the residents and it is great to see this street/avenue once more becoming a desirable place to live.

The Rangers in Baxter Park
The funding for the Urban Rangers is finished. After spending £4.25million pounds on the restoration of the Park should Dundee City Council provide the funds to keep the presence of the Rangers in the Park? Over the years the Rangers have built up a rapport with the community, set up and organised various events, worked with our young people in the schools teaching them to respect the environment and the park and worked with older people on projects such as the mossiac in front of the Park Centre. It is sad and indeed shameful that there is no more funding for a service that has been for the whole community and I would like to pay tribute and thanks to the Rangers for all the work they have put into Baxter Park and indeed the community of Stobswell.
If you have any comments and or suggestions how we can find the funding to retain this service please post them on this sight.
